Tirex Resources announced that the company has engaged SRK Consulting (UK) Ltd ("SRK UK") to produce initial mineral resource estimates at the company's Mirdita project in Albania. The mineral resource estimates will be compiled and reported in compliance with Canadian National Instrument 43-101 ("NI 43-101"). 

Tirex's Mirdita property is a large land package that covers a significant proportion of the historical Albanian Copper Mining District. Multiple historic zones on the property host significant copper, zinc, gold and silver mineralization (see Tirex news release dated January 11, 2010 for a summary). SRK UK has been mandated to complete mineral resource estimates for the deposits at Mirdita known as Koshaj, Gurthi South and Letitna. 

SRK UK is part of the SRK Group which comprises approximately 1,000 staff, offering expertise to the mining and metals sector in a wide range of resource engineering disciplines with 38 offices located on six continents. The SRK Group's independence is ensured by the fact that it holds no equity in any project. This permits the SRK Group to provide its clients with conflict-free and objective recommendations on crucial judgement issues. 

Tirex has recently announced the start up of a new drilling phase onsite at Mirdita, funded by recently oversubscribed financings totaling approximately CAD $3,700,000. In addition to engaging SRK UK to complete initial NI 43-101 mineral estimates, Tirex is also drilling to target the discovery of new economic zones within the District.
