Mr Bond’s appointment follows the succession of Greg Robinson from the position of Director Finance to Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer on 1 July this year.
Mr Bond is a chartered accountant and began his career with Price Waterhouse and later Coopers & Lybrand before joining BHP Billiton in 1997. At BHP Billiton he has held a number of senior executive roles across the business including deputy CFO of the Aluminium business, and CFO and then acting President of the Nickel business. He is currently Head of Group Human Resources based in Melbourne.
Newcrest Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Greg Robinson today welcomed Mr Bond to Newcrest. “Gerard has extensive experience in our sector and will be a valuable addition to Newcrest. I look forward to the contribution he will make to Newcrest.”

Following his commencement as the Company’s Finance Director, Mr Bond will in due course be invited to join the Newcrest Board.
