The Australian government is reporting that the Southern Hemisphere nation will continue its rapid export growth, and that coal exports will increase by 150 million tonnes per annum over the next five years.
The Aurecon Hatch Joint Venture, which serves the coal-export industry in Australia, has expanded very quickly since its creation in 2002 and is now perfectly positioned to expand its business even further, based on the coal export projections from the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Sciences (ABARE).At Hatch's recent board meeting in Brisbane and in continuing discussions with our joint venture partner Aurecon, Hatch reinforced its commitment to further strengthening the combined Aurecon Hatch systems, skills and services. The rail and port infrastructure required to deliver increased capacity is enormous, and represents more than $20 billion of new capital expenditure in today’s dollars. In recent years Aurecon Hatch has delivered award-winning projects in the design and construction of the world's largest coal terminals on the east coast of Australia. With the unprecedented rate of consumption of coking and thermal coal in China and the world, the alliance expect to continue to grow as other suppliers become constrained by a lack of modern infrastructure. Hatch Infrastructure is becoming a global partner for resource companies, investors and governments in the planning and delivery of export infrastructure projects around the world. |
