Hatch will demonstrate the Hatch Mining Simulation Tool at Vale’s Garson Mine in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.
The software was developed by Hatch simulation and mining experts, using discrete event simulation software (Arena). It can accurately model, predict and analyze life-of-mine plans. The software can also support resource planning, equipment fleet sizing, scenario analysis, and operations scheduling. The tool will be used to generate performance forecasts, and provide early identification of potential problems or constraints in mine operations. At project completion Vale will be evaluating the software for potential use in several other mines as well. The project began in February 2011 and is scheduled for completion by the end of February 2011. Hatch offices in Oakville and Sudbury are participating in the project. |
