Hatch has been engaged by Codelco to perform industrial testing to determine the effect on copper recovery by reducing the particle size from 300 microns to 180 microns at the Concentrator Plant at the Codelco Norte Division (DCN) in Chuquicamata, Chile.
The tests consider the classification of particles of 300 microns the coarse fraction regrind and flotation of particles under 180 microns. The equipment used are hydrocyclones, slurry pumps and flotation cells.
Hatch Antofagasta is participating in the project, scheduled for completion in December 2010 and it is estimated that the tests were conducted in September 2011.
