Aurecon Hatch recently won the Bulk Handling Facility of the Year award at the Australian Bulk Handling awards for the Newcastle Coal Infrastructure Group (NCIG) project. 

Construction of the AU$1.1 billion greenfield coal export terminal, adjacent to the existing PWCS terminal in Newcastle, was completed in 2010 with a capacity of 30 Mtpa. 

Project finance / approval was gained in January 2008 and first coal was loaded on a to ship six weeks ahead of schedule in March 2010.
