Robex Resources Inc. announced that it has appointed Mr. Régis Desbiens as vice-president of mining.

Reporting to André Gagné, Robex president and CEO, Mr. Desbiens will be based in Mali where his primary role will be the supervision and management of the Nampala construction project on the Mininko deposit, effective February 4, 2012.

Mr. Desbiens counts 33 years of experience with a proven track record of relevant technical and strategic expertise at the international level. He has been involved in the development of underground and open pit mines, as well as the construction of treatment plants. Over the years, he has managed the construction of several mines for leading mining firms, including Agnico Eagle, Xstrata, Cambior, Semafo JM Asbestos, Lab Crysotile and Avion Gold Corporation. Mr. Desbiens earned much of his experience in Africa as project manager and construction director for Genivar in Burkina Faso and Mali.

"Mr. Desbiens’s considerable expertise rounds out Robex’s team and will be a tremendous asset to the company’s future projects,” said André Gagné, Robex president and CEO. “Having been directly involved with various Genivar projects for the construction and extension of mines in West Africa, including Mana (Semafo) and Ségala (Avion Gold), he will provide valuable insights into the development of the Nampala deposit."
